  • I purchased a P3 550 Mhz full system from him.

slntax was the Seller on September 13, 2002 ArsTechnica

This has been the worst transaction I have ever taken part in. Granted, the price was nice, but not for the grief it caused. I mailed a check to this person on 8/2/02. I requested the computer be mailed to my mother's address in Texas, hoping that it would be there while I was visiting on 8/19/02. I live out of state and it was very important that the system be there for me to setup. The item was not received until 09/03/02. He also sent it to the WRONG address. He mailed it to me, in Iowa, when I specifically requested it be mailed to Texas. This caused me to have to spend another $20 to ship it to Texas. Also, he charged me $30 for shipping, when the USPS label on the front clearly states that shipping was only $19.69. The computer was very poorly packed with one layer of bubble wrap on the sides and a small piece of egg foam on the front and rear. Because of this, the case was dented on one side. Also, when opening the system I discovered that the heatsink had fallen off, possible causing damage to other parts while knocking around inside the case. I emailed him about the denting to the case and he responded with a nasty, belligerent email about how it is not his fault and I should talk to USPS. I then responded to his email with an inquiry about shipping to the wrong address and him overcharging me on the original shipping. I requested a reimbursement of the $20 I had to pay to re-ship the item as well as the $10 he overcharged me for a total of $30. He never responded. I would STRONGLY suggest not dealing with this person. Please feel free to email me before dealing with him and I'd be glad to give you all of the details.

  • Bought a Sparc 20 from Ankit.

Some confusion over who he was in contact with. I made a math error when I added up the total, and send a MO for $10 less than I should have! Ankit was reasonable, and has followed up.
